In 2008, the ENRWA benefited from co-funding from the European Commission within the framework of the specific “Civil Justice” programme 2007-2013 to implement the “Europe Wills” project.
The general objective of this project is to contribute to the creation of a European judicial area for citizens in the field of successions. At a time when European citizens are increasingly mobile and when cross-border files are increasingly numerous, having such a system has become indispensable to ensure that the wills of European citizens shall be found regardless of the place they are kept and therefore that the last wishes of the deceased shall be respected.
